Up to this day there were two distinctly different stitch regulator designs on the market. Major brands like the Gammill Plus, the APQS Millennium, the A-1 Elite, etc. use speed regulation, while the IntelliStitch design, which is standard on Nolting machines and available as aftermarket conversion for Gammill, APQS and A-1 machines, utilizes stitch length regulation.

As it was discussed in one of our previous sponsor messages, the two designs performed very much differently at slow and high arm movement speeds. We always stressed the importance of matching the regulator designs with one's quilting techniques, as well as test driving the different machines to make sure there is a match.

Kasa Engineering Services is proud to introduce the new I/S-Turbo design. This new software represents a revolutionary step that combines all the advantages of the stitch length and speed regulation, making the IntelliStitch design the choice for ALL longarm quilters, whether you prefer slow speed precision or high speed free hand.

There are three major improvements in I/S-Turbo:

- HIGH SPEED REGULATED MODE - The controller detects high speed turns at points or corners and maintains the momentum of the motor. This greatly reduces the occurrence of long stitches coming out of points.

- SPEED SENSITIVE PRECISION QUILTING MODE - The controller measures the sewing arm speed and increases the speed of the precision stitch as the quilter moves faster. This allows for moderate speed increase while maintaining the smooth stitching the I/S precision mode is known for.

- STIPPLING MODE - A stippling length has been added to the I/S regulated mode. The machine makes about 16 stitches per inch, ideal for tight stippling or meandering. The speed is up to you! You can work smoothly in the tightest spaces and place your stitches exactly where you want them.

At the same time, the Turbo retains the unique features of the previous I/S revisions, that so far made over five hundred IntelliStitch users happy:

- FIRING STITCH TECHNIQUE
- BASTING MODE
- PRECISION QUILTING MODE
- NO-DRAG SLOW STITCH
- MOTION DETECTOR IN CONSTANT SPEED MODE

Now the good news for our existing customers:

All the I/S-2K machines can be upgraded to the Turbo. The upgrade involves a minor hardware change: due to the added functions the decals on the front and rear control units need to be replaced. The I/S-Turbo upgrade package contains the computer chip and two adhesive decals that you can easily put on the machine following the attached illustrated instructions.

We have changed the rules this time for owners of I/S-2K of one year or more, making the software upgrade free for ALL the existing customers.
